IMPORTANT MESSAGE
With a heavy heart, I announce that the TLC Foundation has decided to pause doing its charity work. This decision has not come lightly; however, due to the challenges and barriers caused by bureaucratic gatekeeping and political interests, our capacity to carry out our values and missions as a charitable organization has been inhibited indefinitely.
While I have engaged in advocacy to various governing bodies, the Ministry of Health, and the Board of Directors of Children's Hospital in hopes of a different outcome, these efforts have yet to be successful. Unfortunately, the longstanding positive relationship with LHSC has been impacted due to administrative changes, resulting in these circumstances, ultimately resulting in this decision to pause.
However, I want to extend my utmost admiration and gratitude to the families and children I have had the opportunity of connecting with and supporting over the past 30 years. The value derived from these relationships has far exceeded the challenges we have confronted along the way. We hope that one day we will be in circumstances that will allow us to resume the meaningful support we provided children and their families in their time of need for the past 30 years.
