Well Santa’s House in Victoria park is finally coming down! We put it up in the snow and now being April 17 we are taking it down in the snow…really!!
The work that’s involved to take down and put up this house each year is tremendous. I am lucky to have companies like Domus Developments, Cameron Crane and Hayman Construction that preform this very complicated task.
As I watch the house being taken down I wonder if this is all worth it , how many times can I go to these companies and ask them to help, how long can this continue? Then I realize how many kids we have helped from the funds raised at this house, how many smiles did we put on the faces of some very sick kids because of this house. I think of my friend Rebecca who the house was dedicated in memory of this year. There are many reason why the house needs to continue, it is no longer just a house it is a symbol of hope.

Hopefully one day the City of London and the TLC Foundation will come up with an easier way of providing a Santa’s House in Victoria park. Until then we will have to keep on performing this enormous task but in the end it’s all about the kids and I can’t lose focus of that and for the kids I would move mountains if I had to.
