Sophia’s 2 and a half year old brother Tristan is very sick and has been in the hospital for over 3 months. Today I brought Tristan something that I hope makes him feel better. I wish there was more that I could do for this precious little boy, it saddens me that I can’t. I pray that a miracle happens but there is no cure for his condition.

Sophia wants to be there for her little brother and has spent a lot of time at the hospital with her parents. I know how difficult this can be for the parents but it must be more difficult for a 6 year old who maybe doesn’t really understand all the is going on.

Sophia is a bright spunky little 6 year old who is doing her best to keep herself busy while she is in the hospital. Today she set up a makeshift spa and gave nurses a manicure, and as she says at no charge. Sophia has an amazing personality and has made some friends with other kids who have to spend time in the hospital.

Having a sick child affects the entire family especially the little ones who are probably scared and confused. To make Sophia feel like a kid the TLC Foundation purchased a bike for Sophia and delivered it to the Children’s Hospital so that Sophia could ride the bike outside the Hospital grounds. Sophia’s mom said she rode the bike for over 40 minutes today.

The TLC Foundation believes in caring for all kids who sometimes need a little lift to get them through some difficult times. Our goal is to put smiles on the faces of kids when smiles are hard to come by. In the end if we can turn a frown upside down then that is the greatest gift we can give a child.

My thoughts and prayers are with Tristan, Sophia, her parents and the entire family
