What the TLC Foundation sees in this video is a lot more and it brings tears to our eyes. We see a boy having fun, being free, escaping from his every day world of sitting in a hospital bed 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We see a boy who has to fight everyday of his life to beat this terrible disease. We see a boy who is scared and has to endure so much, more than any kid should have to. We see a boy that can finally be a kid, finally can do many things that most of us take for granted. We see a boy with big smiles on his face, something that’s hard to come by these days. Andrew has been in the hospital for months, he is not able to leave his room, not able to go outside for a walk. When I found out the Andrew was cleared to leave the hospital for a few days I couldn’t resist but to send him to a resort so that he could have some quality time and fun with his family and at the same time ensure his health would not be compromised. From some of the videos and pictures I have received it looks like he and his family are having a great time playing outside and enjoying the resorts amenities. When Andrews little get away is over he will once again be spending months in a hospital room , trying to battle this terrible disease. The TLC Foundation spends their Christmas Eve at the hospital delivering presents to all the kids who can’t go home for Christmas. It’s heartwarming to see the smiles on the kids faces but sometimes the kids can’t use the gift that they wished for right away. Kathryn wanted a Pink Cadillac for Christmas. I am so happy that she can finally enjoy her gift. Her mom commented that she loves her new car and it’s bringing her lots of smiles. I received a visit today from a very special boy Keiran, his big sister , Rebecca and Elizabeth, their mother. The family wanted to meet me as they heard about all the great things the TLC Foundation does for kids like Keiran. Of course I couldn’t resist but to get Keiran some of his favourite toys and by the smiles on his face I think I did a good job in getting the right ones.
