The TLC Foundation is devoted to providing sick …

The TLC Foundation is devoted to providing sick kids the opportunity to do exactly what they’re meant to do; be a kid. On a normal day, many of these kids are unable to do what most kids can. Therefore, TLC arranges a “Leo day” where in which they can do anything they desire. There are two rules for the day: no parents allowed, and the word “no” is not used. I had the pleasure of spending the day with my friend Everleigh, where she had the opportunity to play, and do anything she wanted during our special day. Something that you maybe don’t see is the oxygen line that Everleigh needs to survive on a daily basis. On our special day, it was as if that oxygen line became invisible. She didn’t have to worry or be restricted from what she cannot do on a normal day and was able to do whatever she wished. TLC continues to harness special moments for these children and strives to bring smiles to their...

As promised, we followed through on our devotion …

As promised, we followed through on our devotion to put smiles on Eveleigh’s face. After a little shopping spree at Toys R Us, the TLC Foundation enjoyed a night at Palasad with Eveleigh and some of her family members. Thank you to the amazing staff at Palasad South particularly Scott and Ernest for making Eveleigh’s and CJ’s night so special. It was heartwarming to see Eveleigh run around and just be a kid. Unfortunately, Eveleigh’s illness prevents her from doing many things that other children may be capable of. However, last night she was able to participate in many activities including a great game of laser tag .When Eveleigh said “this was one of the best days of my life”, we were all overwhelmed with joy! After many hours at Palasad, the family was treated to an overnight stay in a suite at the London Delta Armories. Thank you to our friends from the Delta, and Gerry Champagne, for always being there for the TLC Foundation when the need arises. It is little things like this that make a difference in the lives of children who should never have to worry about anything except for being a kid. #TLCFoundation @ Palasad South...

When life can be unfair and when it’s hard to …

When life can be unfair and when it’s hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel it’s fate that sometimes brings people together, people to help in their time of need. It was by pure fate that I met Everleigh, it was if something drew me to her, something told me to reach out to her and I’m so happy I did!! Everleigh is battling a life threatening terrible disease an illness that she has been battling for a few years but things are getting worse. When I met Everleigh in the hospitals gift shop she was very sad, I could sense something was wrong something more troubling. I wanted to put a smile on her face so I did all I could in that moment to do just that. Out of the blue I told her she could pick out any item she wanted in the gift shop. At first Everleigh was a little apprehensive but eventually we walked around the gift shop looking for something for her to pick out. After a few minutes she picked out a few items and we said our goodbyes. To say that is the end of this story is an understatement for what transpired that day was a lot more than I could ever imagine. The day I met Everleigh she was very sad , it wasn’t until the next day that I was informed that Everleigh had just attended her brothers funeral a few days earlier. Everleigh was in the hospital for treatment and didn’t want to be there so to get her mind off of things she went to the hospital gift shop waiting for her appointment, that’s when things changed for both of us, that’s when I entered into her life. The next day I received a heartwarming message from Everleigh’s mother who explained that the gift Everleigh picked out was very special and that I was able to make Everleigh’s day a little brighter and provide a few smiles. That special gift Everleigh picked out was a locket. Everleigh wanted something to put a picture of her and her late brother in, this gift meant everything to her. Since that fateful day I have seen Everleigh and her family many times. To try and lift all of the families spirits I recently sent Everleigh and her family to Niagra Falls for a little break, a break from a world for them that is very difficult right now. I will continue to be by Everleigh and her families side during this difficult time and I will continue to put lots of smiles on Everleighs face. I was not suppose to be in the gift shop that day. For me and Everleigh to meet is something that’s very hard to explain but things happen for a reason and I’m very happy that we met that fateful day! The picture below was taken in Niagara Falls, Cj, Everleigh’s little brother, is on the left and Everleigh is on the right. Look at those beautiful smiles, it warms my heart to see them smile when smiles are really hard to come...

I was very happy to be there for my good friend …

I was very happy to be there for my good friend Michael, whenever the need arises I will be there for him. Michael is my hero and I love the fight he has in him to beat this terrible disease. It’s not easy fighting cancer, it can sometimes make you tired and there are times when you want to give up. When that happens I promise the kids that I will be there to lift their spirits and be by their side when sometimes the pain is too much to handle. As much as I like to give the kids a gift to lift their spirits there are many times when just being by their side, comforting them, telling them funny things that will make them smile and laugh can also be a great gift. I felt happy knowing that I made Michael laugh and smile during my visit with him. The TLC Foundation will always be there for these amazing kids , no matter how tough the battle is we will be there by their side helping them fight and hopefully putting a few smiles on their faces to help them get through a very difficult time in their...

A Message From the TLC Foundation …

A Message From the TLC Foundation …

A Message From the TLC Foundation It was a very busy year for the TLC Foundation providing hundreds and hundreds of children with smiles and that wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for the support of hundreds of individuals. To everyone that supported the charity through financial contributions, the giving of their time, or donating their services, we couldn’t have done it without you. From the bottom of my heart thank you!! Our 4th year at Santa’s House in Victoria park was visited by thousands of people from near and far all in an effort to make a donation to help us help kids. Santa’s House also became a place where people who couldn’t afford a picture with Santa and visits from some special friends from the Children’s Hospital were welcomed with open arms. Unfortunately some of Santa’s House success is based on weather and due to the rain, our first week didn’t hit 2017’s numbers. However, when the weather did cooperate people came out in droves. To everyone who came out to support us at Santa’s House thank you !! Attached are some pictures of children whose faces we put smiles on in 2018. Unfortunately a few of the children in these photos are no longer with us. I have been blessed to have met them and get comfort in knowing we did all we could to brighten up their day when smiles were hard to come by. I hope that the TLC Foundation can continue to put many more smiles on children’s faces in 2019. I know I will do everything I can to make that possible no matter what obstacles are put in our way !!!! From the bottom of my heart thank you to everyone that helped the TLC Foundation make these smiles possible!! Leo Larizza Founder TLC...

My beautiful and amazing friend Kayla wanted …

My beautiful and amazing friend Kayla wanted something special for Christmas so when I was informed of what she wanted the TLC Foundation went into action to be able to get this gift for her. Layla lives in Windsor so it took some help of some of my elves to get this special package for my friend. On Christmas Eve Layla picked out her new kitten and named her Eve after the special night that she got to meet her new friend. Today Layla got to bring Eve home and the smile on Layla’s face says it all!!! What is truly amazing is Layla’s best friend adopted a kitten right after Layla was diagnosed and her friend named the kitten Layla. It just so happens the kitten Layla adopted is the sister of the kitten her friend adopted. Seriously what were that chances of that...

This is one of the most heartwarming messages I have ever received. There was some magic in the air last night as the TLC Foundation granted Christmas wishes to children in the hospital. We are not just providing a gift we are providing wonderful memories that will last a life time!!! When a gift comes from the heart it has more meaning than when it is given for other reasons , the message below confirms that the TLC Foundation must never give up assisting children no matter how difficult it sometimes can be and trust me it’s certainly not getting easier!!!! Not only did Leo and his foundation grant my daughters wish they saw beyond it and multiplied her expectations. I have not seen her smile like that in ages. My husband and I were moved to tears as we watched her uncover the box. We have been so focused on making her well that we’ve had little time to make her happy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Merry Christmas. Happy new Year. Bless...
