The TLC Foundation does its best to inform people …

The TLC Foundation does its best to inform people of all of the amazing work it does for children in our community. Whenever possible, we post pictures and stories of children whose lives have been changed by the good deeds the charity does. What people may not realize is the charity is consistently working hard to provide children with hope and smiles, and that we never say, “we have done enough” rather, “what else can we do?”. Even though you may not hear from us, the charity is still making many hospital visits or fulfilling the many requests we receive on a monthly basis. Within the last month, we have made many hospital visits and have granted some incredible wishes. One wish in particular was for a young man named Dylan. His story is a little complicated and sad, so when I received a call and heard his story, I had to do everything within my reach to grant him his wish. If not for the TLC Foundation, Dylan’s wish of attending a Toronto Maple Leaf’s game and meeting a few players would have never happened. This wish would not have happened without the assistance of an amazing man, Joe Bowen, who went out of his way to ensure Dylan had an unbelievable time at a recent game. I honestly believe there is no other charity like the TLC Foundation. With the ability to grant wishes for these amazing kids, the charity simultaneously ensures we raise enough funds to operate the charity, manage Santa’s House from the building stage to the operating stage, as well as giving endless support for the children and their families and all functions involved in operating a charity; all without anyone receiving any remuneration, something that we are very proud of. These acts of kindness are done on everyone’s own time, and it is truly amazing to witness individuals giving their time and resources, which is what the true meaning of the charity is all about. Thankfully, TLC has some astounding individuals who believe in the Foundation and everything it accomplishes. Ultimately, we could not do all of the tremendous things we do without...

The TLC Foundation is devoted to providing sick …

The TLC Foundation is devoted to providing sick kids the opportunity to do exactly what they’re meant to do; be a kid. On a normal day, many of these kids are unable to do what most kids can. Therefore, TLC arranges a “Leo day” where in which they can do anything they desire. There are two rules for the day: no parents allowed, and the word “no” is not used. I had the pleasure of spending the day with my friend Everleigh, where she had the opportunity to play, and do anything she wanted during our special day. Something that you maybe don’t see is the oxygen line that Everleigh needs to survive on a daily basis. On our special day, it was as if that oxygen line became invisible. She didn’t have to worry or be restricted from what she cannot do on a normal day and was able to do whatever she wished. TLC continues to harness special moments for these children and strives to bring smiles to their...

As promised, we followed through on our devotion …

As promised, we followed through on our devotion to put smiles on Eveleigh’s face. After a little shopping spree at Toys R Us, the TLC Foundation enjoyed a night at Palasad with Eveleigh and some of her family members. Thank you to the amazing staff at Palasad South particularly Scott and Ernest for making Eveleigh’s and CJ’s night so special. It was heartwarming to see Eveleigh run around and just be a kid. Unfortunately, Eveleigh’s illness prevents her from doing many things that other children may be capable of. However, last night she was able to participate in many activities including a great game of laser tag .When Eveleigh said “this was one of the best days of my life”, we were all overwhelmed with joy! After many hours at Palasad, the family was treated to an overnight stay in a suite at the London Delta Armories. Thank you to our friends from the Delta, and Gerry Champagne, for always being there for the TLC Foundation when the need arises. It is little things like this that make a difference in the lives of children who should never have to worry about anything except for being a kid. #TLCFoundation @ Palasad South...

When life can be unfair and when it’s hard to …

When life can be unfair and when it’s hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel it’s fate that sometimes brings people together, people to help in their time of need. It was by pure fate that I met Everleigh, it was if something drew me to her, something told me to reach out to her and I’m so happy I did!! Everleigh is battling a life threatening terrible disease an illness that she has been battling for a few years but things are getting worse. When I met Everleigh in the hospitals gift shop she was very sad, I could sense something was wrong something more troubling. I wanted to put a smile on her face so I did all I could in that moment to do just that. Out of the blue I told her she could pick out any item she wanted in the gift shop. At first Everleigh was a little apprehensive but eventually we walked around the gift shop looking for something for her to pick out. After a few minutes she picked out a few items and we said our goodbyes. To say that is the end of this story is an understatement for what transpired that day was a lot more than I could ever imagine. The day I met Everleigh she was very sad , it wasn’t until the next day that I was informed that Everleigh had just attended her brothers funeral a few days earlier. Everleigh was in the hospital for treatment and didn’t want to be there so to get her mind off of things she went to the hospital gift shop waiting for her appointment, that’s when things changed for both of us, that’s when I entered into her life. The next day I received a heartwarming message from Everleigh’s mother who explained that the gift Everleigh picked out was very special and that I was able to make Everleigh’s day a little brighter and provide a few smiles. That special gift Everleigh picked out was a locket. Everleigh wanted something to put a picture of her and her late brother in, this gift...
