IT’S OFFICIAL! After almost a year of planning it’s finally happening. The TLC Foundation has received an invitation to attend Hell’s Kitchen in February for a taping of a show and dinner. We have chosen a very special boy who is battling cancer and is a fan of Chef Gordon Ramsey to attend this amazing event. Chef Gordon Ramsey’s team has been amazing to work with and has come through with his promise to fulfill this wish. It’s hard to comprehend that a small local charity like the TLC Foundation can make so many of these wonderful wishes come true no matter how many people tell you it’s imposable! Nothing is impossible if you truly believe in what you are doing. Hell’s Kitchen…here we come! Who knows, you might see me in Hell’s Kitchen after Chef Ramsey discovers what a great cook I am. A Message from the TLC Foundation Words cannot express the gratitude and appreciation that I have for all the great people that have supported the TLC Foundation this past year. From the companies, individuals and other organizations that sent in donations that help us help kids not just at Christmas but throughout the year. To the thousands of people who visited us at Santa’s House in Victoria Park and helped us raise over $40,000 for our charity. To the hundreds of volunteers who helped with the Santa House operations and with the purchase and delivery of hundreds of gifts to kids this Christmas Eve, and to the firefighters and police officers who assisted me in delivering wishes to all the kids in the hospital this Christmas Eve…thank you from the bottom of my heart. We could not have done this without your support. Every year I receive many accolades and thanks from families that TLC supports. But TLC Foundation is only successful as a result of the hundreds of volunteers and donors that provide their time, effort and financial support to help us help kids. In the end that is what all of this is about, helping kids. It is only with your ongoing support that TLC is able to operate without any administrative and overhead costs. Everyone who helps the TLC Foundation does so because they love kids and when they need us we are there with open arms. Lastly, I believe a big thank you has to go out to all of the nurses, caregivers and social workers at the Children’s Hospital. I can honestly say that you will not find a better group of caring individuals in any hospital in the world. I have witnessed the compassion and kindness they provide to these kids, I have seen first-hand what the meaning of what my Mother taught me and that is to do all you can for others no matter how hard it can sometimes be.
