My vision was to build a House where kids would visit and in turn they would help kids in need. This vision was realized with Santa’s House in Victoria Park, where thousands came out to help the TLC Foundation help kids. What happened in Victoria Park in the month of December was magical to say the least. Visitors from Kitchener, Windsor, Australia, Austria, Germany and many other parts of the world, paid a visit to Santa’s House. Most of them heard about the house and its purpose from the news or friends. One particular family from Australia came three times, each time bringing different family members. Many children that the TLC Foundation helped in the past came out to support our charity as well as nurses, caregivers, local businesses, family, friends, coworkers and thousands of Londoners. A special thank you to our Mayor Matt Brown, and the many employees of the City of London, who helped bring this project together. Lastly we can’t forget about Comet, Santa’s reindeer who visited the house on three occasions to help Santa spread the Christmas cheer. Thousands of pictures were provided in return for a donation to the TLC Foundation, as well as pictures gifted to kids or families that needed a little Christmas cheer during a difficult time in their lives. Santa’s House became a place where people of all religions and race would visit all in an effort help kids. The spirit of giving back was alive and well in Victoria Park thanks to so many wonderful people. It was heart-warming to see so much good happen. I never dreamed, in a thousand years, that this house would be accepted by so many people. Santa’s House would not have been successful if it wasn’t for the wonderful businesses that helped build and furnish the house and the volunteers that helped with operations. The amazing team from Fanshawe College’s Photography Program that took on this challenge and made this initiative so successful. Alan Abley who showed so much care and compassion to all of the kids. Many family and friends who were with me day and night to lend support, and of...
