A message from Leo Larizza, Founder of the TLC …

A message from Leo Larizza, Founder of the TLC Foundation Two years ago I had a vision of building a Santa’s House where kids could come and get their picture taken with Santa all in the effort to raise funds for the TLC Foundation. I had many sites in mind but none stood out like Victoria Park. The challenge that I thought I would have to deal with was to get the City of London to buy into my vision. I presented my vision to our Mayor, Matt Brown and he loved the idea from the start. I can’t thank him and all of the people at city hall enough for embracing this project, they have been very supportive. Building this house was not going to be an easy task but my dear friend Dominic Mescia from Domus Developments took this project and made it his own. Dominic and his team have been amazing; they too have all embraced this project. The idea from the start was kids would have their picture taken with Santa and all of the donations would go to the TLC Foundation. After consulting many individuals it was decided that a suggested donation of $20 would be the amount required to make this project worth all the effort that so many people have put in. But we also stated that we would not turn anyone away no matter what the donation was. I strongly believe that if we did not put in the suggested donation amount many people would have taken advantage of this opportunity and all of the hard work that so many have put into this project would have not received the proper support that it dearly deserved. Thousands and thousands of dollars in material has been donated, hundreds of hours in labor and volunteer time by so many wonderful organizations and people are being put into this project, all to help children in need. This project is not about profit, we are not selling the public anything. We are not charging you for a picture and we are certainly not a business. We are a charity and our number one goal is...
